"We are all searching for the same thing: a hand to hold and heart to understand. Keep it simple. Smile a lot. Be nice to people. Life is a joy." Terry Bradshaw
Comedy Central

Garfield's weeklong tirade bashing accordion players irritated accordion players all across the USA. I play accordion. The fat cat labeled us geeks. Can anyone tell me the definition of a geek? A funfilled protest was organized in front of the corporate headquarters of the local town paper that carries Garfield Cartoon daily.

Bobby Z Accordion Magic, (Bob Zampetti), Greasy Fingers Billy K, (Bill Kuklewicz), Blazin' Fingers Joe (Joe Blazejewski), and King Kilbassy Man, (Christopher Ell) along with a lovely lady who danced the polka with Blazin' Fingers Joe. She chose to remain anonymous. Billy lives in Wilkes-Barre; Joe, Plains Township; Chris, Tunkhannock. The lady's town is unknown.

We started off by staging a peaceful demonstration outside the local town newspaper that publishes Garfield. Billy K played lively polkas on his accordion as Blazin' Joe, dressed in authentic ethnic outfit pranced dancin' the polka. I watched from across the street. A feather sticking out of Blazin Joe's cap was later labeled a feather in his hat.

The complete story with photos were published in the Times Leader Newspaper. The Philadelphia Enquirer picked up the story from the Associated Press. "What's going on with Garfield?" said the voice on the other end of the phone when I returned a call to The Daily Show at Comedy Central Headquarters in New York City.

A film crew from Comedy Central showed up here later in the week. Garfield Creator Jim Davis' side of the story was also captured out in Indianapolis, Indiana. When the segment aired on The Daily Show host Jon Stewart sided with us by exclaiming, "I go with the accordion players".
